Hello,

Once again a great Fest!

I delayed the trip down to get better weather and ended up only getting caught in a few traffic delays. I had a late dinner at The Persian Grille. The Chicken Fesenjan was great.

My room was on the fifth floor and I managed to get exercise over the weekend by mostly using the stairs. The hospitality suite was on the sixth floor so it was an easier walk. I liked the hospitality setup. There were two interesting HF receivers thanks to Dan Robinson. I got to tune in stations from India, CFRX 6070, etc. I tried for some LW stations at night, but did not hear anything.

I recently bought a used Wellbrook ALA1530 loop. I brought it to the Fest to try out. It worked okay in my room and up in the hospitality suite. I am thinking of experimenting with some loops after hearing Jef Eichner's talk. I might bring a HF receiver and a loop for the hospitality suite next year. I should have setup my Wellbrook in the hospitality suite sooner.

I found the talks on North Korea very interesting. Thanks for hosting the talks.

I managed to do some listening above HF and found some interesting digital radio systems. I used an Icom R2500 with a laptop running dsd. I also used a Winradio G305e to do some recording of signals. The Winradio also works good for DRM on HF.

It seemed quieter with several of my friends not able to attend, but still not enough time to do everything.

All too soon there was the banquet, the Pancho Villa broadcast, and time to head home. It was a nice relaxing trip home.

Already looking forward to next year.
