The Fest's digital radio display, which will be in the exhibit room, is
shaping up.
DRM
For DRM reception, we will have at least the Ten-Tec RX-320D, which will
ultimately be a raffle prize.
Alas, we will have no standalone DRM receivers. If someone has the
Morphy Richards 27024 DRM/DAB receiver, we would especially like to try
that one.
If you have a DRM-capable receiver, and it is *convenient* for you to
bring it along, please do so. If you can bring the PC and speakers to go
along with it, even better, but if not, we'll probably have an extra PC
and speakers.
HD Radio
We are slated to have the Sangean HD radios. I believe Eric Cottrell is
planning to bring his Radio Shack HD radio. Other models welcome, if it
is easy for you to tote them.
If anyone has a few feet of coax, with BNC male on one end, and tinned
wire or test leads on the other, that will allow us to connect the
Sangean's AM antenna input to the antenna switcher connected to
shortwave antenna on the hotel roof.
Wi-fi Internet Radios.
Rich Cuff has wangled the Acoustic Energy and Squeezebox wi-fi radios
for the Fest. If you have the Roku or other such wi-fi radios, and if it
is no problem to bring them along, we would be grateful.
We would also be interested in trying out wi-fi capable PDAs, handhelds,
etc., to see how they work as internet radios. (One developer has even
claimed to put an internet radio receiver on a card that is plugged into
a Nintendo DS.)
