Sorry for all of the partial message repeats (he said as he sent out a message that added one to the total.) I have a new computer, and there seems to be a bit of a problem here. MERRY CHRISTMAS. 73, Curt W4CP

A "hamfest" is a mini/micro convention of ham radio and radio enthusiasts, almost always will a flea market of radio, computer and electronics gear of various vintages. The smallest hamfests are virtually flea markets only. I don't know where you are located, but if you can find a local ham radio club, they can let you know when the nearest hamfests will be held. Also, you're more than likely to find a antique radio or "boatanchor" fan (boatanchors= big old radios that use tubes) who can help you test them and/or find a home for them otherwise. www.arrl.org website can help you find a local radio club. So that would be my suggestion. Good luck. 73, Curt W4CP until recently, weekends at WMPM AM1270, Smithfield, NC Curt Phillips, CEM CMVP W4CP ex-KD4YU; WB4LHI ARRL Life; QCWA; SKCC; NASWA; OOTC; ODXA Tar Heel Scanner/SWL Group Scanner/SWL Net- Mondays, 9PM, 146.64 repeater Raleigh, NC USA www.w4cp.com w4cp<at>arrl.net -- Using powerlines to distribute high-speed Internet makes as much sense as using cable TV coax to distribute high voltage electrical power. --- On Tue, 12/23/08, Richard Cuff <[email protected]> wrote: From: Richard Cuff <[email protected]> Subject: [Swlfest] Fwd: [NASWA] Re: A Little Help for the New Guy To: "Discussion list for the Winter SWL Fest" <[email protected]>, [email protected] Date: Tuesday, December 23, 2008, 6:23 AM Any suggestions for Chad? I'm just a 23 year old who knows nothing of radio tubes. There has to be someone out there who can help. I need to uses the lifetimes of knowledge (not that anyone here is old) I know is out there.
