I just tried converting paired left and right ceilings characters to XML
<seg> ... </seg> tags.
Currently this matches only 6570 pairs (46 patterns skipped). cf
\x{2308} LEFT CEILING 6663
\x{2309} RIGHT CEILING 6635
NB. It also causes nesting problems in relation to <q ... > ... </q>.
So this is not a simple matter to fix.
