also OT but different: our local cable has BBC WS on 36, with NO closed captioning whatever. For a short period each day, CBC Newsworld on 26 simulcasts (identical program, no lag even), and they DO have complete CC. Why would this be?
I spend a lot of time with teevees on CC (at the gym, and less so, my dentist's office) with no sound, and am really curious. I thought about asking our local cable provider, but their licence seems to have a provision prohibiting them from answering any questions . . . ef Vancouver
