+1 for Jordi's monolog. I'm at work now so I've taken a quick look at it,
but I like it :)

I thank you for your contribution, and to everyone who contributed to this
amazing project (as everyone should do). I can't understand why some people
get so sensitive sometimes when someone is actually using their own time to
contribute something so we can all work with it.. and for free. You can like
it or prefer an alternative. But in every case people should be grateful
when someone uses their own time for free to contribute something to the
community. If I'd make something for free and I'd want to share it, I would
prefer to hear "Thanks a lot for your contribution. But I think Zend's
logger is a better choice for "X" reason" than simply "err.. there are
better choices". At least in that case I would not feel that I wasted my
time and I would try to keep contributing in other components.

BTW.. "reinventing the wheel" doesn't need to apply in every case.
Alternatives should be welcome too.
