exactly.

like i said, i do not have a fundamental issue with annotations especially 
since they are available all over the place already anyway.

i do think there is a risk that showing users the annotation shorts cuts in 
frameworkextrabundle too early there is a bit of a risk. contrary to doctrine 
its not equivalent if the template is auto guessed or even configured in an 
annotation. in one case i would need to use a different configuration format 
and in the other one i would need to write explicit php code. so i agree with 
ryan that in the first few controllers we show a user they should use more 
explicit code (heck even the Controller base class is clearer).

core.view is a magic edge case and not the norm, we are still in agreement on 
that?
