I probably would need to explain myself more, but I think we're mixing core or barenones with standard. Standard is a set of tools for solving standard problems, which extra bundle does by minimizing repeated code. Core is the absolute minimum, that you can build on top of. In that sense I think even core is too much. Also all standard bundles are officially supported as far as I know.
