FWIW, I just made an incredibly quick proof-of-concept bundle that adds a
server:serve command that does this for apache on Arch, it's up at
https://github.com/jdodds/JDDServerBundle . In a poor state at the moment,
but from what I can tell from what time I've spent in the relevant docs and
code, it shouldn't be too hard to get it to a point where it can at least
accommodate most dev-machine configs. It's barely anything right now.
