Hum that's certainly not intentional ! I will fix that ! I spend some time
on the problem, but it's a really hard one...
If I understand correctly, I must not distribute the file with the source,
but if I still want to rely on a LGPLed translit data source, then I could
provide a downloader+installer that everyone will have to run.

An other possibility is assuming that you did it right in Symfony, follow
your lead and take the data from ICU :
http://source.icu-project.org/repos/icu/icu/tags/release-49-1-2/source/data/locales/

If I destroy unicode.tbz2 and replace translit.ser, then I should be ok
don't you think ?
