again the point is that defacto the bulk of the discussions happen on GH and 
that many people do post on this list but get no reaction at all. this imho is 
much worse a problem than the not ideal search features in GH, especially since 
email clients are hardly any better at searching. with GH we can at least tag 
tickets, which helps in search.

anyway .. i think the majority so far has agreed with the proposal. i 
personally did not see any arguments brought forth to keep the list as 
convincing. however we could also organize some formal vote or an IRC meeting 
or whatever .. but i think its time to conclude this RFC.
