I for one agree with Victor, maybe not on the same grounds, but I get so many github emails that I tend to just mark all issues stuff as read for symfony. If I have time I'll scan the subjects to see if there's anything of interest to me, but otherwise unless someone mentions me I don't "see" the emails.
On the other hand, I do read this low traffic list, and I would be quite happy if actual dev *discussions* happened here rather than on github. I have been quite out of touch with some stuff lately because it's on github and I don't have easy means to filter the issue clutter out (which is not clutter per se, but it's not what I have time for atm). Maybe what we need to do instead of closing the ML is to close all issues that are not about bugs or clearly defined feature requests and redirect here if they are likely to require a discussion.
