You have probably content with two different charsets in the database, it
may look the same but the encoding used is different.
In this case I would say the translation text is not correct in the
database, having ISO-8859-1, probably it was inserted in the DB by someone
who
had only ISO-8859-1 set up in the browser for allowed charset.
Try updating one of the entries in the translation table via other methods
(SQLscript, phpmyadmin). Check the output after cleaning the symfony cache.
