New issue 1804 by smichr: as_independent could respect non-commutatives http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=1804 If n1 and n2 are non-commutative, (n1*n2*n1).as_independent(n2) gives (n1**2, n2). A tentative workaround using some code that is in review is included as the 'as_independent as gcd home, part1' commit in branch 1766 at the smichr acct at github. In addition, these changes also allow exp(x+y).as_independent(x) to give exp(y)*exp(x). I'm just entering this for preliminary review. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
