New issue 1900 by smichr: factor((1+2*x+x**2)**100) works too hard http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=1900 For the above expression, factor is working too hard (in polys8) to get the answer (1+x)**200. This should barely take more time than to simply factor the base. Perhaps this is because factor is very general. Perhaps we need a higher level factor which calls the low level polys.factor when needed (in this case only on the base of the power). -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
