The exception seen comes more precisely from:

In [4]: Pow(y, 2, evaluate=False).is_commutative
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
AttributeError                            Traceback (most recent call last)

/media/sda2/Boulot/Projets/sympy-git/<ipython console> in <module>()

AttributeError: is_commutative

The problem is in Pow.__new__: is_commutative is not defined in the evaluate=False
branch.
