I don't recall many piecewise related changes being pushed in since 0.6.7, but it has been a while, so I could be wrong. The best way to tell is to checkout the latest trunk yourself. See the GettingTheBleedingEdge page on the wiki.
As far as things to do, search for piecewise in the issues. As I recall, there are a few open bugs that need to be fixed. I myself can't even figure out what exactly needs to be done for this particular issue (see my comment 60 above).
