It my master it is already gives:

(1/(x*y)).as_base_exp()
(x*y, -1)

Also, if by 'implicit substitution' you mean internally treating
`subs(x*y, foo)` as `subs(x, foo/y)`

No, by 'implicit substitution' I mean the situation, when we not just simply parse the expression as the pure symbolic tree, but apply mathematics somehow.
