Comment #6 on issue 3671 by [email protected]: logcombine(log(x) - log(2))
doesn't work
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=3671
Although I haven't implemented the combining of a single vanilla term with
others, I have used what I've learned in working with Mario and writing Fu
to refactor logcombine:
master
eq=Add(*[randint(1,5)*log(Dummy()) for i in range(100)])
t=time();jnk=logcombine(eq);time()-t # nothing to do
0.1
t=time();jnk=logcombine(eq, force=True);time()-t # combine all
<stopped after 3 minutes>
this PR
eq=Add(*[randint(1,5)*log(Dummy()) for i in range(100)])
t=time();jnk=logcombine(eq);time()-t
0.014
t=time();jnk=logcombine(eq, force=True);time()-t
0.094
