Yes, when simplify=False, it gives -log(f(x) - 1)/2 + log(f(x) + 1)/2 == C1 - log(x)

and using the "lie_group" hint, it gives, f(x) == (C2 + x**2)/(C1 - x**2)

both of which are right.
