Comment #8 on issue 4023 by [email protected]: solve provides the error: sympy.polys.polyerrors.PolynomialError: only univariate polynomials are allowed
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=4023

So summarizing:
I can solve my issue by converting my equation in a Sympy polynom and computing the polynom roots by means of Poly(eq).nroots(3) command. Which is really good so I can finally updated my Sympy version. On the other hand the fact that solve hangs is a bug. Once more if you go back to version 0.7.1 this bug was not present, I don't know whether this inforamtion can help you.

Am I correct?

Ciao
