I was thinking of ASCII plots as a fallback option. When you don't really 
have 
matplotlib installed on your comp and you have to visualize the results.
Yeah I agree with you that ASCII plots are not really helpful. Guess I 
should have
asked the question to myself before proposing the idea. I felt that it 
would be 
fun to implement it seeing it in the ideas list :).
