Hello,
as far as I can tell it's not too late. Take a look at our ideas page to
learn how to get started (note in particular that there is a patch
requirement), write up a proposal and discuss it here!
Best,
Tom

Hi,
I'm interested in applying for GSOC this year and i'm really interested
in learning Python, I just had a few general questions.
I haven't been able to apply as of yet and i'm just wondering if its too
late to do so?
I have minimal to no programming experience with Python but I have
extensive knowledge of mathematics and mechanics, what sort of projects
would you recommend for me?
Here is a little bit of my background information for you to get an idea
of what skills I could offer:
Finishing 3rd year Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering
Code as a hobby, delved into web development.
Programming:
* Matlab (Advanced)
* Mathematica (Advanced)
* C++ (Experienced)
* PHP & MySQL (Experienced)
* HTML & CSS (Experienced)
Any insight or advice would be appreciated.
