Thanks a lot Aaron Meurer and others for the kind suggestions. Going with Anaconda was an excellent option.
However I managed to solve the issue and got it running without root access. There was no installation needed. Installtion is required only If we want SymPy to be available globally. I just uploaded the sympy folder and able to run sympy using the ./bin/isympy option.
