To whom it may concern: My name is Anantha Rao. I am currently a 3rd year undergraduate at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune, India, majoring in Physics and Data Science. I apologize if this is not the right place to discuss my personal introduction, and if not, by all means, please let me know where I can send it instead.
I happened to come across sympy while learning computer algebra during my course on scientific computing two years ago and have been a regular user of sympy since then. I am an avid Python user and have contributed to OSS projects previously. Currently, I am working on a research project in Quantum Machine Learning and was surprised to see that Sympy has some good implementation of quantum logic gates and simple integrable problems in QM (harmonic oscillator, particle in a box etc). However, I found that there wasn't enough documentation on Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsch%E2%80%93Jozsa_algorithm> and some simple logic gates. It'll be great if I can contribute to sympy in this regard and give back to society. Any guidance on similar topics and issues would be immensely appreciated. To go over some information suggested in the "introduce yourself" guidelines, I am quite familiar with Python and have contributed to OSS for the iGEM foundation (You can checkout the project here <https://github.com/igemsoftware2020/IISER-Pune-India>). I regularly use Python and Sympy for my ongoing Research Project where I need to compute solutions to hard ODEs/PDEs, symbolically. I have taken courses in abstract mathematics, Data Structures and Algorithms, and bioinformatics where I solved problems using Dynamic Programming, Sorting, and searching algorithms. Currently, I am taking a course on Quantum Information and Quantum Algorithms. I have been going through the issues on Github and reading more about the Codebase. I intend to contribute to the sympy community and be a part of GSOC'21. In this regard, I will be grateful if someone can guide me and suggest any issues/features to work on. Thank you for your time and consideration, Yours Sincerely, Anantha S Rao [email protected] III year BS-MS student Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune India' -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "sympy" group.
