Hi all, I was trying to migrate to FxA (from the old sync), and in the progress read through the privacy notice / terms ( https://accounts.firefox.com/legal/privacy and https://accounts.firefox.com/legal/terms ), and had a few questions and comments: (Please redirect me as appropriate; this seemed like the best place.)
- The privacy notice doesn't mention anything about things Mozilla *doesn't* have access to - as written, it's perfectly fine for Mozilla to have access to my synced passwords. That's... kind of a deal-killer for me. Was that intended? Can there at least be language about opting out of the ability to recover my password (and saying that Mozilla will honour that by explicitly not having access to those things in that case)? - https://accounts.firefox.com/legal/privacy has mysterious "Learn More" text that doesn't do anything. Probably a leftover from copying from the Cloud Services privacy notice. - https://accounts.firefox.com/legal/terms in section 4 (Privacy Policy) links to the Cloud Services version, instead of the Firefox Accounts version. They're identical, but it seemed more sensible to link to the copy on the same site - Also for the terms: Section 7 (Terms; Termination) says that if I cancel my FxA account, the only sections that remain are 8, 9, and 11; notably, 5 (dealing with how Mozilla is allowed to handle things I send over) no longer applies. That means all my data must be immediately deleted? - Can the forced sizing for the legal text be removed, at least on devices with a large screen? ( #main-content { width: } and #legal-copy { height: } ) It's currently needlessly forcing scroll, which feels like the site is being sneaky and doesn't actually want me to read the text. That seems to work against the image Mozilla has been cultivating as the Good Guys. The relevant PR - https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-content-server/pull/1706 - didn't seem to have any explanation as to why it was done, just what. Thanks! I'm sure you folks ave good answers, I'm just new to the area and am unsure where to find them :D -- Mook _______________________________________________ Sync-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/sync-dev
