As far as I recall, there's no way for Android to decide to use a new GUID for an existing item other than by reconciling an incoming record. (In that respect it's like desktop.) — but see (1), below.

Did you mean the "1." below?\, or maybe a different footnote is missing?

Assuming you never bookmarked that URL as a livemark on Android

Nope - and I'm quite confident that bookmark has never been touched on any device recently. I've had this problem a few times in the past, but this is the first time I've got postmortem evidence. The toolbar makes such a change obvious (ie, it possibly happens more regularly in less visible folders), and FWIW, my toolbar has only RSS feeds (meaning it's always been an RSS feed when I've noticed it). I use very few addons, and none relating to rss or bookmarking, and I don't touch these livefeeds.

Another option may be some <handwave> RSS feed self-repair code we don't know about on desktop, or some other thing that did the recreate - eg, https://github.com/bwinton/SnoozeTabs/issues/273 (the yaks are lining up!) in a different context.

Thanks!

Mark
