Reverting just the part about the GUI progress events won't help, when I
restart the GUI it shows "Received" with the values as stored in the statistics
(i.e., including the ones made locally).

Any opinions? Should we revert the changes made for bug #3314 in 0.9 to solve
this issue for the time being, then fix 3314 and change the "Received" string
in 0.9.1?
