Summary: Crash when opening files on windows

Initial Comment:
Every time i try to open some samples, particularly warpcube and warptext (the
ones i tested) Synfig crashes showing in console window the folowing message:

synfig(2256) [time of day] info: Loading modules from ../etc/synfig_modules.cfg

Needless to say that this file/folder does not exist on windows, so i guess
somebody forgot to change some line of code.

Message:
Hi pxegeek,
I installed the downloaded synfigstudio package in the windows 'default'
location - C:\Program Files\ but changed the name of the synfig directory
to NewSynfig.
Installation location is C:\Program Files\NewSynfig.
I then started synfigstudio.exe from the bin library. At this point I was
interrupted, and had to shutdown and go do something else.
To my utter amazement, the next time I tried to open
...\examples\warptext.sifz, it displayed on the canvas as if it had never
done anything else. (i.e. Crashed)
I am sure that there was some dependency within the Synfig GTK+ etc.
installation chain that caused another level of one of the Synfig packaged
components to be up/down-levelled.
Currently everything is working as expected Adding text, or a new text
layer, and double clicking a *.sifz which contains text layers works like a
charm.
Thank you very much for kind attention. Sorry if I caused you any
sleepless nights.

Message:
I don't know where the "procedure suggested to other users" is written -
Start>Cmd <enter>
CD C:\Program Files\Synfig\bin <enter>
synfigstudio.exe <enter>
-------> this will cause the problems you are seeing with the icons not
showing up. Running it from Start Menu -> Synfig -> Synfig Studio should
give you the icons.

The other thing I noticed in your screen shot is that you installed Synfig
in a Graficos subdirectory under Program Files x86. Can you try just
letting it install to the default location and see if that makes a
difference? As Genete notes, all the main GTK dependencies are in the
Synfig install package now, so you shouldn't need to worry about any
others.

Message:
Since Synfig 0.62.00 all the needed components of Synfig are installed with
the installer. I'm sure that it is a problem of the freefont libraries. For
some reason in your system that library is not found. I'm now used to deal
with windows configuration because it is not my native OS. I've installed
and run Synfig Studio in a W7 32 bits in a virtual machine and runs without
troubles.
Maybe pixelgeek can have other idea. Sorry for not being so helpful.

Message:
Hello genete,
well it does not work for me, not in 62.00 nor 62.01.
and I get a crash when opening a new Text layer on my canvas also.
I have done the business with starting synfigstudio in a windows command
window, and I have a 15KB text file.
I will try to attach it to this Artifact.
Best wishes.

Message:
Please provide Synfig Studio version and Windows version.
Also please, try to install the latest release and be sure that the Single
Threaded Renderer checkbox is enabled in the Settings dialogue from Toolbox
(Miscellaneous tab).
We have successfully loaded those files in a windows environment with the
latest release.
The message:
Loading modules from ../etc/synfig_modules.cfg
is normal and is not an error.
