Summary: Can't find libsigc-2.0.0.dll on Windows path

Initial Comment:
In Windows using Synfig 0.61.03 the program upon
startup immediately reports that it cannot find
libsigc-2.0.0.dll on the path. The path is listed as:

D:\synfig\bin;.;C:\WINNT\system32;[etc etc]

The path has the GTK\2.0\bin in it and the dll is in
fact present there, however I wonder if the problem
might be the double semicolon with the period between
them right after synfig\bin as seen above. Is Windows
able to deal with the single dot? Maybe it should be
.\ ? If synfig\bin is already prepended to the path is
it necessary? Just wild guessing, I don't know.

This should be fixed by using the new SVN build by Atrus and electing to
set environment variables during the GTK and GTKmm installs. In addition,
lots of bugs have been fixed in SVN.

i am still getting this issue on winxp. I have GTKMM
2.8.3-2.exe installed and it still tells me that
libsigc-2.0.0.dll is missing. What am I doing wrong?

Well, if it works it's good. I will try your method.

Okay I figured out what is going on. I had quotes around
the GTK portion of the path like this:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0\bin"

Removing them, aka:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0\bin
and synfig starts up now. This does not seem to be normal
behavior to have a problem with quotes since the console
(cmd.exe) can find for example pango-querymodules.exe
located in the GTK bin with the quotes there. I would
assume then that synfig needs to trim quotes from around
sub-paths before it uses them.

For the record I was already using gtkmm 2.8.1 so I do not
think this is the solution.

Me again, aneglus,

gtkmm-runtime-2.8.1-1.exe will install everything needed
(including GTK+, and of course libsigc)

Well, this is easly patched... :) just use
gtkmm-runtime-2.8.1-1.exe provided by
http://www.pcpm.ucl.ac.be/~gustin instead of the gtkmm from
the synfig website.
