Hi David and Konstantin!
My primary reason for join to a higher organization like SFC is
transparency. I'm very worried about being the holder of the current
donation account. First because, unless we remove its public visibility, it
could continue growing and the problem will be higher the later we face it.
I don't want to have legal problems needing to justify a money that is on
my own account, so somehow this should be solved.
It is true that SFC is slow. I prefer slow response but with coherence and
security than a quick adoption what only would make me be more suspicious
than other thing.
Joining to SFC is not incompatible with the latest great news coming from
titmouse.net . More over, I think that if they offer to handle a kick
starter as a system to found the development (instead of direct hire
people) it would be absolutely needed to handle that amount of resources
that would come in.
I think that we should not only continue with SFC but (as they state on
their Conservancy Applications Questions) it would be good to enlist our
project in other software conservation organizations in order to choose the
one that fits better our needs (possibly our small initial project size
wouldn't fit on SFC but in other organization)
The news from titmouse are not only a reason to us to try to join to a
higher organization but it is a point for us to be chosen (since it
demonstrates the reliability of the project in the industry).
I think that we should be prepared for the future and it won't be always to
be under a sponsored development.
David, all their emails have been sent to synfig-devl but I need to approve
them to make them public. I think that they don't have problems with make
them public so I'll approve them from the mailing list administrative
interface.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
