Hi all!
Just one remark. Please don't forget the focus of the icon metaphor.
Regarding to color, please consider to run Synfig Studio in a b&w monitor
and check if each icon-metaphor is still readable.
Remember that "vector" is not the whole metaphor. It is more for 2D
coordinate than for vector (in many cases vector means direction and
length, which is not the case here).
I suggest to work more on the metaphor meaning and after that design the
icon.

Regarding to Group Layer we need to think something different than for Set
of layers.
Group layer is a special layer that holds layers that are together in a
stack and allow to work with all them together. Set of layers is something
that allow to work with scattered layers along the composition. The folder
icon for Group layer is fine. Also the box icon is fine to me but i
understand that there are preferences on that.
On the other side, Set icon should meet the Set metaphor: "scattered layers
that can be modified together". What about design a new icon for Set that
really differs from the Group icon? (excuse me if there is a new design of
the Set icon but I'm not aware of it)
