Firstly, you can fix the sendmail complaint by either disabling it or by
adding a fully qualified host name as the first name in /etc/hosts, ie:
192.168.100.100  myhost.somedomain.com myhost 
Doesn't matter if the domain is real.

Secondly, are you looking in /var/adm for the logs?  If your just
looking in /var/log try /var/adm.
