I've done this before. I can't remember the exact details, but here you go: You can use the Startup Disk control panel to choose which partition to boot from, you can manually bless/unbless the System Folders, or use System Picker, which is available at Marten's site: <http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/utilities.html>. I don't think it's possible to choose a system at boot time. I've never bothered with 3rd party disk utilities. Gamba has HD SC Setup 7.5.3 and a patch that enables it to work with almost any drive: <http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/system6.html>. I remember that the A/UX disk utility worked as well, but I can't seem to find a link to it. As far as drawbacks, System 6 will force you to double boot if you were running System 7 in 32-bit mode. This can be avoided by using Optima32 (again at Gamba's site) or by running System 7 in 24-bit mode. You will experience lots of Desktop File rebuilding, which can be avoided with Desktop Manager (available at Marten's site). The only other annoyance was files or aliases on the desktop. I hope this helps.
