Have you tried the setting I mentioned earlier?
That is, editing the value for the "useAppleTalk" key in /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleFileServer.plist.

I would love to but to do that I need a piece of software that is on the developers cd, which I don't have at home. Or do you have some other trick?
