My favorite apps for System 6 on my Mac Plus?

Right at the top of the list would have to be Smartcom II, a terminal
program written for Hayes modems, but it works with just about anything you
can throw at it. Here in Rhode Island, we have a dial-up, text-only,
Internet email provider, and Smartcom II makes online connections simple
with programmable buttons that can send any text string.

For word-processing, I most often us MS Word 4.0, but sometimes 5.1a for
better compatibility with more recent versions on other platforms. I've
tried WriteNow, but haven't gotten really comfortable with it yet.

HyperCard is a lot of fun to play around with, and I've spent countless
hours creating useful apps for personal use. I think version 1.2.5 is best
suited for System 6, but I use version 2.1 often for its more advanced
features. HyperCard stacks created in the early version can be converted
into 2.1 stacks anyway.

For archiving and compressing files for sending to others, I use StuffIt
Classic 1.6, which creates files still compatible with recent versions of
StuffIt Expander. Cant' beat that! :-)

And of course, for regular Email through my dial-up ISP, I use Eudora
version 1.3.1. Plain-text-only, but that's just fine with me!

I'll probably think of more later...

     Bob
