Recently, I've been more focused on the hardware side of putting together a
state-of-the-art :-) OS 6 system. So I haven't got into the s/w side so
much. However, I do use (am using now) and love the VersaTerm suite of tools.

Versaterm Link is wonderful in containing Mail, News, FTP, and Telnet all in
one package. I know these things are available elsewhere but in this package
they are all together and work fine with OS 6. I believe they still sell it
and it is still compatible with OS 6!

I subscribe to ComCast cable, and have a router that networks my house. My
boys use PC's for games and we have newer OSX Macs as well. But once you
know the settings for DNS, and mail and news servers, its easy to set up an
OS 6 machine. So never believe their "minimum requirements" crap!

I'm actually thinking of buying one of those nice LCD monitors to hook up to
my Mac IIci OS 6 machine. In my experience - the quality and size of the
monitor you use has the biggest effect on the quality of the experience.

Somebody else talked about the lack of distractions when you use OS 6 and
work within its limitations. I can understand that. $300 of monitor hooked
up to a $100 computer (it's pretty tricked out), may seem silly, but you
could still end up with a more productive machine than a Dell :-)

PS I just got VersaTerm to spell check my email as well :-)
