Well, as I suggested earlier, --system sounds just more logical to me. This switch after all is for creating a cache for the system supplied hwdb files. And it has the nice benefit of being without ambiguity for both split-usr and merged-usr systems. So I don't see a good reason to not pick that original suggestion from Kay (without the -only).
