Wetmore does a lot for track & field by producing some of our top distance runners. But what does he do to help put on good track & field meets? It's safe to say that if you're a Colorado track fan you have zero chances of seeing any of their top athletes compete at a meet in Boulder. And that little Colorado Open, or whatever that glorified all-comers meet they had a few weeks back was called, just doesn't cut it.
I loved watching Torres run fast and duke it out with Meb at the Cardinal Invite, but the Western Regional was the best non-NCAA Champs collegiate meet I've ever attended.
