Ben, Obviously you were also one of the LEAST academically qualified students on campus or you wouldn't make such outrageous remarks! Maybe you should check your GPA against the football team members GPA. You might be surprised to find that you are no where near the top of the list! All football players are not numbskulls! Yes, there are some who should not have been given scholarships, and NCAA regulations prevent many of them from getting scholarships or from participating in intercollegiate activities during their freshman year.
To label all football players as the least qualified students on campus is totally idiotic. It also clearly indicates that you have a bias against football players! And don't try to say that you didn't label all football players as the least qualified, because when you say "88 scholarships for the least academically qualified people on campus is ridiculous," you have labeled ALL football players as the "least academically qualified people on campus!" Many football players make the Dean's Academic Excellence List, many make the Academic All-American Team, and some are Rhodes Scholars! They have won those awards because of their intelligence, not because they were members of the "football team." I know from personal experience that there are many professors on college campuses who feel that football players are coddled and therefore, when they are in their classes, make them perform above average work just to earn an average grade! And the administration supports the professors. Leave your biases at home and place your brain in gear before you make such idiotic statements in the future!
