If MG screws up in Edmonton or comes down with illness and injury and misses these World Championships and thus cannot be a defending champion when the 2003 championships come around he'll want to run in the 2003 US champs. And if the governing body tells him they don't want him because he ran only one round in 2001 he and others (on this list) will bleat about the rights of athletes etc. ad nauseum. Randall Northam
