Now, I've not always agreed with what Mike has written on this list.  For 
instance, I thought he was being far too idealistic and simplistic 
regarding promoting t&f in some of his recent post.

But, I've got to give him kudo's for this post.  Assuming he can put 
together a training group, who knows whether or not any of them will reach 
regional, national, or international caliber.  But, that, to me, is largely 
besides the point.  I'm impressed that he is "giving it a go" and not just 
sitting around bitching and moaning how he could be so good if only this 
shoe company or that store or this corporation gave him something.  His 
attitudes seem to harken back to the days of yore when a group of guys 
formed a group called the Florida Track Club; and another group started the 
Greater Boston Track Club.

Seems to me some pretty big things came out of those groups who didn't sit 
by and wait for it to come to them.
