I think it depends on what phone you have. I get a strong signal with T-Mobile anywhere I go in my area. A couple days ago, for demonstration purposes, I went in to the system selection menu, and AT&T and T-Mobile showed up. You may want to call 611 and speak with customer care about your situation.
