Hi Everyone We were up camping in central Maine this weekend. Quite to my surprise, we had a choice of roaming partner up there - both Cingular (ex-ATTWS) and Unicel were available. Even GPRS registered with Unicel, though not Cingular.
We live in Southern Maine which TM covers from I95, hugging the southern coast and inland about 15 miles or so to cover Rt202, which runs parallel. Up until now, moving outside any of the TM range resulted in dead air. I know Cingular and TM have agreements in a few places, though I wasn't aware of any covering Maine but Unicel was a complete surprise to me. If I understand correctly, Unicel has built out all its TDMA sites with GSM. I had heard that this was 850MHz only, but clearly they have 1900MHz too since both our handsets are only 900/1800/1900MHz equipped. Anyone able to confirm roaming arrangements up here?
