Hello Steve:

I don't have a MDA, but what is also interesting is that it works with the
headset supplied with the phone.  I'm curious, have you tried more then one
of both stereo and mono headsets with the phone?  If you look at the stereo
plug, you will notice that is is different then the mono.  It has one more
metal area on it.  This could be the problem.  If the female side it stereo,
it may or may not work with a mono plug.

If you can get wired working and like that, I would recommend staying with
wired.  Bluetooth just isn't as good as wired.
