Sorry Jeff, but if you guys get it wrong the OS is to fix it.
If you get it correct then it is a verification issue.
If your hardware is not whitepaged, it is not supported, period.
Curtis and I went round and round over the issue.
And "dork" means to correct what the BIOS failed to do.
Compaq may have a special case where it may get it correct, but I do not
place bets on a pig in a poke.
Also the since an intelligent HOST would need to know how to reprogram the
chipset to take advantage of things like auto-dma-respeeding if excessive
iCRC's are encounterd, but that whas my invention so I do not expect other
HOSTs to be capable of such a feat or responsible action. This is to
deliver the highest-safest performance setting that the hardware will not
generate errors.
