the trunk livecd is probably not yet adapted for kde or so.
historically we considered a default password too unsafe, and
instead had the gust user auto-login'ed.

The live CDs are supposed to log you in without prompting for a name
and password at all. If its prompting you for a login, its probably
configured wrong.
That said, I have been able to log in to the live CDs in the past with
the username "root" and the password "root".
