scsijon,

I have supported linux on multiple ARM processors in the past.
It would be a hard task 1) if you do not know linux well, 2) never worked
with the kernel before.
If you really want to start a project like that, like Rene has advised,
first research about the bootloader. Make sure that the bootloader is
unlocked. Once that is done, you need to have a fairly good understanding
of the hardware so that you can configure the software to run on it. The
later step can be accomplished by many ways. If you really want to start
on it, go ahead and I'll be available if you need any assistance.

I would be more interested in running Linux with wayland/webkit and
Qt-embedded on the LTE version of the galaxy TAB. However, I wont be able
to start on it until 2nd quarter of next year. So, good luck!
