I wanted to keep going, so checked out the last revision before zstd
was introduced, r45018, October 2016.

Running the pristine T2, booting off a USB stick (installed from the
t2 iso that I downloaded from t2-project.org), "generic" target,
minimal xorg with desktop, x86_64, just accepting most defaults.

# ./scripts/Build-Target -cfg generic

Failed early in stage 0, automake failed. Same reason that "dan"
reported in 2015:

https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg03101.html

Dan never got a reply, I wonder if he fixed it?

I installed xz package and updated to automake-1.15 out of latest t2
checkout, got same error.

This is interesting, I never hit this error before. So I booted up my
Quirky Linux 8.0, which is basically a Puppy built with Ubuntu 16.04
DEBs, and ran the above Build-Target

...off she went, automake built successfully, surging ahead right now.

So much for running a pristine T2!

Regards,
Barry
