Hello to the list.

Janis has kindly posted several photos of the reproductions of the
7th-century brocaded tabletwoven bands found at Taplow, England. These
reproductions were done by Grace (I believe) Crowfoot and are on display in
the British Museum. The photos were taken by a friend who is living in
England, the poor dear.

I believe that the brocading has been done incorrectly, i.e. the brocade
wefts pass over what should be the tie downs and go under the cords that
should be covered with the brocade wefts. Please have a look at the photos
and pass on your ideas to the list. Thanks!

The photos will only be up for five days and can be seen at
www.weavershand.com/taplow.html.
